Reverse logistics platform

Returns, run as an operation. Not a label.

From a branded consumer portal to hub inspection and palletised dispatch back to the retailer: one system with 100% item-level traceability, isolated per-retailer configurations, and a same-day cycle from consumer drop-off to POD confirmation.

-30% Returns processing cost
+25% Customer retention
100% Item-level traceability
How it works

Three stages. One platform. Zero manual hand-offs.

From the consumer starting the return to the goods arriving back at the retailer, every step is scanned, ruled and traced.

Consumer portal

The return starts under the retailer's brand

The consumer opens the retailer's branded portal, finds the order by Order ID and ZIP code or phone number, selects items and a reason (refund, exchange, other) and uploads photos if needed. The label is generated instantly, shown on screen and sent by e-mail; status is tracked in real time.

  • Fully white-label per retailer: subdomain, logo, colours, copy
  • API integration keeps the consumer inside the retailer's own site or app
  • Bulk CSV upload for high-volume B2B returns
Hub processing

One scan, and the parcel meets its digital twin

The hub operator scans the tracking ID and the system links the parcel to its retailer, consumer, expected items and inspection rules. No manual entry.

  • Itemised inspection: a dynamic checklist per SKU; progress blocked until every question is answered, discrepancies logged automatically
  • Destination assignment by outcome: retailer warehouse, a nearby store, or retention at the hub
  • Hold on Item: automatic quarantine and notification; resolved by re-inspection, retailer approval or disposal
  • One-in, one-out packing: items from different returns never share a box, enforced by the system
Back to retailer

Pallets close themselves, the carrier is told

Parcels are grouped into pallets by destination, time window and vehicle capacity. Closed pallet data is transmitted to the configured carrier, V-TER Linehaul or any local carrier connected in the system, and the retailer receives the POD notification. Manifests, packing lists and all label formats are supported.

Capabilities

A full operating system for reverse logistics

Each retailer gets an isolated configuration: onboarding a new client is configuration, not development.

Return initiation

Three ways in, one hub workflow.

  • Consumer self-service portal

A branded URL where the consumer initiates the return independently.

  • API integration

Direct integration with the retailer's website or app; the consumer never leaves it.

  • Bulk CSV

High-volume B2B returns loaded in one file.

Per-retailer configuration

Isolated, so dozens of retailers share one hub safely.

  • Return policy window

Default 365 days, configurable per retailer.

  • Inspection and Hold on Item rules

Per SKU, set by the retailer or the operator.

  • Portal branding

    Subdomain, logo, colours and copy.

  • Connections

OMS by API key, address validation, billing systems and notifications per tracking event.

Hub operations

Fast where it can be, thorough where it must be.

  • Weight control

Automatic parcel weighing on arrival at the hub.

  • Equipment integration

    Scanners, volumisers and sorting robots.

  • Admin panel

Full control over returns, orders and pallets; reporting, metrics and billing statements.

  • Real-time sync

Every status change reflected instantly and visible to the retailer.

Why it pays

The pain points of reverse logistics, removed

Manual hub operations, mismatches between expected and actual items, missing traceability and slow refunds all cost loyalty. The platform takes each one out.

Efficiency and cost

  • About 30% lower returns processing cost through automated inspection and palletisation
  • Seconds for a simple weighing, 2–3 minutes for a full processing cycle
  • Isolated per-retailer configs let 3PLs grow the client portfolio without custom development

Customer loyalty

  • Around 25% higher retention from a simple, transparent return process
  • Early refund: inspection at the hub confirms the return before it reaches the retailer
  • Real-time tracking at every step, fewer support tickets

Same-day cycle

  • Consumer drop-off to retailer POD within one operational day
  • Every item traceable from first scan to warehouse receipt
  • All data in the admin panel the moment it happens
In the V-TER ecosystem

V-TER Returns runs on its own. It runs better connected.

Every V-TER platform shares one data layer and one API, so connecting two of them is configuration, not an integration project. Here is what each one does for V-TER Returns.

Who it is for

Where returns volume is a real problem

High return rates, many sellers in one hub, or returns offered as a service.

Fashion and consumer electronics retailers

A white-label portal, SKU-level inspection rules and traceability from drop-off to warehouse receipt.

Marketplaces

Isolated per-seller configurations inside a shared hub, with strict data and logic separation.

3PL operators

Returns as a service: a new retailer is a configuration exercise, not a development project.

Retailers with cross-border returns

International flows on 100+ carriers, multi-format labels and customs documentation.

FAQ

Common questions

A requirements review, portal branding and API integration are completed within 1–2 weeks, followed by a supported go-live. Configuring a new retailer afterwards needs no development: branding, inspection rules, routing logic and carrier settings are all managed in the admin panel.

SaaS subscription, white-label, and API-only for retailers who want the consumer to stay inside their own site or app.

Yes. Because inspection happens at the hub against the retailer's own rules, the return can be confirmed and the refund released as soon as the item passes, well before the pallet arrives at the warehouse.

On pallets the system builds by destination, time window and vehicle capacity. Closed pallet data goes automatically to V-TER Linehaul or any local carrier connected in the system, and the POD notification tells you when it has arrived.
